Overview
What could be more adventurous than flying close to the mountains? That is what paragliding in Nepal in Pokhara does – brings you close to the magnificent Fishtail so you get a never-before view of this magical mountain! The starting point is Sarangkot, just north of Lakeside, Pokhara. We will arrange for you to get there by vehicle and meet the crew you will be paragliding with and get fixed up with equipment. Then silently sail around the top of Sarankot (1,592m), getting unforgettable glimpses of the Annapurna mountains. Quietly descend to near Fewa Lake, taking in the birds-eye view of the lake and the Peace Stupa on its opposite shores before landing gently on the shore of the lake. Then head back to Lakeside for a well-deserved beer!
You can also try going up in an ultra-light craft from Pokhara airport if you feel you need something a little more sturdy beneath your feet. Pilot included! Recently added on the list of hot tourism "Hot Air Balloon" is another great way to see the city from above the cloud.
If you are not going to Pokhara or want to experience paragliding in Nepal over the Kathmandu Valley, paragliding is also available from Kathmandu. With the starting point near Godavari Village at Chapakharka, you will experience views of the Langtang mountains and Kathmandu and surrounding villages before coming into land at Rasantar. Or why not have this adventure in both Pokhara and Kathmandu?
Never paraglide before? Don’t worry, you can go up with an experienced pilot to experience completely free and safe in tandem.
