Sitting southeast of Island Peak, Mera Peak (6,470m) is another peak famous among climbers. The Mera Peak Climbing starts after a short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. We have our own warehouse at Khare, where we can outfit you with all the gear you will need for climbing and our local staff is very experienced in this area. After completing this climb there are several options open: return to Lukla to fly back to Kathmandu, or continue over the Ama Lapcha Pass to Chukung, the gateway for Island Peak Climbing, from where you can join the Everest Base Camp Trek or go on to Gokyo Valley. Best time: The Best Time to do Mera Peak Climb is September to November
Early in the morning after breakfast, we will take a flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. Around 40 minutes of flight we will reach Lukla. From there, we will discuss our trek sometimes and head down from Lukla. Through the jungle down to Surkhe, we will move ahead and reach Pakhapani where we will have our lunch. After we will continue towards and crossing the traditional village and jungle we will reach Paiya. Paiya is a beautiful place from where Knogde Ri, Khatang, Tang Ragi Tu and other peaks are seen. Overnight at Paiya.
Early after breakfast, we will head down crossing the bridge, through the slippery trail and cross Kari La Pass. In the village on our way, we will rest and have our lunch and then move through the rhododendron and bamboo forest from the narrow trail. We then reach to Pangkongama, one of the trading village.
Today earlier descending the path of rhododendron forest, we will walk through the place of many mani walls. We then descend and stay for our lunch break around the village. Again we will descend steeply walking through the forests of pine and rhododendron and reach to Nigmsa. Overnight at Nigmsa.
After breakfast, we will walk uphill and then descend down through the narrow trail. We have to pass the way of landslide area through the forests and reach the stream. After we will enter the Makalu National park. The trail to Chetrakhola is also called Pasang Lamu Trail and reach our destination for overnight.
Walking to the north of to the main trail of Mera Peak, we will cross the Majang Khola. Moving to the other trail we walk alongside the Hinku Khola. Straight ahead towards Tashing Ongma, we will cross the bridge over the Sanu Khola and reach Kothe. Overnight at Kothe.
Along the ridge of Hinku Khola, we will move towards and have our lunch at Gondishung. From there, we will pass a 200-year-old Lungsumgba Gompa. After a short walk from Lungsumgba, we will reach Tangnang. Overnight at Tangnang.
Usually, this day is named as the rest day by numerous individuals of the trekking organization. It is called acclimatization day as one will trek for about 3 hours up to Charpate Himal Glacier. It is the holy place of Sherpa's and worshipped by them. We will view the Mera north from there and walk down to Tangnang.
Today we will head towards Mera Base Camp at Khare from Tangnang. We will go to Dig Glacier to Dig Kharka and climb through moraines. Similarly, we then move to our camping spot at Khare.
Today we will walk to Mera Base Camp from Khare and enjoy the spectacular view of the surrounding. We will walk the steep way for 3 hours and reach Base Camp. After reaching there we will take our kunch and enjoy the day exploring.
Today early in the morning, we will move towards High camp from Mera Base Camp. Two hours of walking through the rock way to the top of the rock band, we reach high camp and enjoy the rest of the day.
Today is the day when we will reach the main destination of our trek. After breakfast very early, we will prepare for climbing to the summit with our crew member. After that, we will head toward and climb up to the summit. From there we will view Mt. Everest (8,848m/29,021ft), Cho-Oyu (8,210m/26,928ft), Lhotse (8,516m/27,935ft), Makalu (8,463m/27,760ft), Kangchenjunga (8,586m/28,165ft), Nuptse (7,855m/25,765ft), Chamlang (7,319m/24,010ft), Baruntse (7 ,129m 23,383ft) Ama Dablam (6,812m/22,343ft) Kangtega (6,779m/22,235) and many peaks. Enjoying there we will get back downwards to Khare and stay overnight there.
Today we will retrace back all the way to Kothe from Khare following the way that we came before.
Same as before, we will head opposite and walk down to Thuli Kharka from Kothe. stay overnight at Thuli Kharka.
After getting back from Thuli Kharka to Lukla, we will spend the most recent night on the Himalayas might be throwing up the party with crewmember as porter will remain there in Lukla. Lots of pubs are organizing party along with snooker, free Wi-Fi in Lukla, get into one and grab some beer, we recommend Everest Beer.
After enjoying and celebrating and praising the goodbye with porter, we will fly back to Kathmandu and return to the hotel in Thamel. Refreshing ourselves, we will give some unwind to our body. At night, we will have farewell dinner along with feedback with entire NEST ADVENTURE groups and the cultural show during dinner.
