Trip Overview

Situated very close to Kathmandu, around 7 to 8 hour drive away, the Langtang Valley Trek takes you through Langtang National Park, with its pristine countryside, yak pastures (think cheese making!), and wildlife consisting of pheasants, Himalayan bears, red pandas, deer, and monkeys. This is a short trek, ideal for those with little trekking experience. However, a good level of fitness is required, as we will be climbing Tserko Ri at nearly 5,000m to watch the sunrise. The trek to Langtang begins in Syabrubesi, following a short drive from Kathmandu Valley.

Langtang Valley Trek

The Langtang Valley was badly affected by the 2015 earthquake, but now the resilient people are welcoming visitors to their lodges and businesses. The destruction was constructed with the help of local people and the government. The people here in Langtang are very kind and friendly. Due to their nature, the place was reconstructed as soon as possible. During this trek, the fine hospitality and culture will make you want to return to the place again. You will not only experience nature, but you will also get the chance to learn and experience the culture and lifestyle of local people.

This is a diverse trek that takes us through rhododendron and bamboo forests, allowing us to enjoy cascading waterfalls and learn about the local Tamang people and their Buddhist beliefs. We will visit Kyanjin Gompa to learn more about these Tibetan origins beliefs. And, of course, what we came for, there are outstanding views of the mountains!  Dorje Lakpa (6,966m), Langtang Ri (7,205m), and Langtang Lirung (7,234m) glisten in the sun.
