Helambu Trek

Today, we will drive about 1 hour to Sundarijal. From there, we will walk up to the entrance gate, take the entrance permit, and move forward. After reaching Mulkharka, we will have our lunch and continue our hike. Almost all the walking will be through the forest. The trek on this day will be moderate.

From Chisapani, today we will hike to Kutumsang, which takes 6 to 7 hours. The way will be downward for about 1 hour, and after that, we will walk for 1 hour through the road. In some parts, we will see Stupa, monasteries, and prayer flags. The people living here have a mixed culture and community. Similarly, before Kutumsang, the trail is uphill, and the trek will be moderate this day. Since we’ll be walking through the forest, we won’t get to see the mountain view.

By walking 2 hours from Kutumsang upward through the forest, we will pass Mangengoth and reach Thadepati. The journey from Mangengoth to Thadepati takes 3 hours. On the way, we will pass through Langtang National Park with a view of different peaks.

Today, we will head towards Helambu VDC or Tarkeghyang. After walking for about 3 hours, we will reach Melamchigaon, and then it will take another three hours to reach Tarkeghyang. The trail is all the way downwards with the walk in the forest. The path is easy to walk. After arriving at Tarkeghyang, we will visit the Sherpa village and Gompas with a side trip to the cave.

We will walk downwards for about 3 to 4 hours and arrive at Sermathang. After the suspension bridge, we will walk downhill to Ghangyul along the forest of pine and Rhododendron. In Sermathang, you will visit the Sherpa Village. Overnight at Sermathang.

Today is the last day of our trek. We will walk from Sermathang to Melamchi Pul Bazaar in around 3-4 hours, passing through Sherpa village, and then take a bus ride to Kathmandu, which will take another 3 hours. Later, when you arrive in Kathmandu, you can explore Thamel for shopping and purchase tokens to take home.
