Overview
This Grade III to IV river is only a few hours drive from Kathmandu so it makes a perfect weekend getaway or a trip for those with less time. It’s also the perfect river for both first-time rafters and those with more experience. It is a fantastic ride - so we ensure you are being guided by a fully qualified team.
Itinerary
Drive to the put-in point, with views of the magnificent Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges on the way. Enjoy lunch before we start paddling, along with a briefing from the raft leader. The trip starts with Grade III rapids but soon develops to Grade IV. One rapid is called ‘Gerbil in the Plumbing”! Then on to some others named “Frog in the Blender”, and other interesting names! Now we are paddling through canyons, passing waterfalls, and green landscapes to Barabise village and our overnight camp.
Today’s river is steep, and technical with no time to recover from one rapid before hitting the next. Some more interesting rapid names include “The Great Wall”, “Liquid Bliss”, “My God What to Do?” until you reach a long series of drops known as “Dazed and Confused”. We hope you are not dazed and confused but full of excitement from this wonderful, two-day trip.
