Itinerary
Day 01: After a 1.5-hour flight to Nepalganj, in the lowland Terai region of the country, we head to the put-in point at Samjhi Ghat by jeep. Tonight we make camp, make preparations, and get to know each other around the campfire.
Day 02: After breakfast, the fun begins! This area is, overall, remote and the feeling when hitting the rapid in this unique setting is unlike anything else. When not on the river, there is an opportunity to do some bird watching or just relax on the sandy beach.
Day 03: Today we pass through a narrow gorge below towering cliffs. Then we come out into a valley with interesting villages which we paddle passed.
Day 04: Today we hit more rapids and meet the confluence of the Bheri River and the large Karnali River. We also enter another gorge, coming out onto the plains that make this area famous. We are near Bardia National Park, where there are abundant wildlife and safari opportunities.
Day 05: Chose to visit Bardia National Park, drive or fly back to Kathmandu. It’s a long, but interesting drive back to Kathmandu, but obviously faster to drive back to Nepalgunj and fly!
