Permits Required for Langtang Trek
The Langtang Valley Trek is located within Langtang National Park, Nepal’s first Himalayan national park. Unlike the Manaslu Circuit Trek, Langtang is not a restricted area, meaning trekkers do not need a special restricted area permit or a mandatory guide. However, all trekkers must obtain a Langtang National Park Entry Permit before entering the region.
- Langtang National Park Entry Permit: NPR 3,000 per person (approximately USD 20), valid throughout the trekking period. This permit supports conservation efforts, wildlife protection, and trail maintenance within Langtang National Park.
- TIMS Card (Trekkers’ Information Management System): Depending on the latest trekking regulations, independent trekkers may not require a TIMS card. However, trekkers joining an organized trek through a registered trekking company should verify current requirements before departure.
Note: Permit regulations and fees may change over time. We recommend checking the latest requirements with your trekking agency or the Nepal Tourism Board before starting the Langtang Valley Trek.
