Everest Base Camp Weather October

Among four different weather season in Nepal, October is one of the best, this is what the internet says If you search online. The month of October is not only for Everest Base Camp but also the best time for all trekking route in Nepal.  In addition to that, when to visit Everest Base Camp while not a lot of hikers on the trail.    


Weather change is real especially country like us with the verities of natural diversity we can feel a constant weather change. The month of September was supposed to be clear sky but past few years we are challenging non-stop rain throughout the month. Travelling to Everest Base Camp within a certain time frame makes a lot difficult if you get stuck waiting for a flight to Lukla and a lot of time this happen due to the bad weather. From the first week of October, most of the time weather will remain constant and clear sky views. However small short duration rainfall might accompany your trip. I would highly suggest planning to start EBC trek from the end of the first week of October, especially if you are travelling Nepal in a shortened time frame.  During this month the rain will not last longer than expected. Packing list for Hikers hiking EBC in October

Trek essentials (What to pack for Everest Base Camp If you are planning to visit during October) 
No climbing Ropes needed
No Ice axe required
No Goretex or high altitude expedition jacket needed, Down jacket with -10 works fine. 
No climbing shoe needed, General high ankle hiking boots work excellent. 

Crampon may/may not require (Ground is not paved – rough, rocky and gravel strewn But please check the trail condition with your local company. If the trail has left with heavy snowfall, the path might get quite slippery with melting ice. In this case, crampon is a lifesaver)

What you need are:
Hiking boot (high ankle boot recommended)
Sleeping bag (-10-20 'C)
Down Jacket
Pair of the thermal sweater to keep you warm inside
Pair of comfortable dry hiking pants
Hiking socks (woollen socks are recommended)
Hiking bag (minimum 50l+10)
 
Additionally, you could consider taking, warm hat/ head cover, scarf, sunglass, lip guard, sun cream, trekking pole, headlamp, windproof gloves, water bottle, water purification drop, camera accessory, first aid kit etc.

The first things you need to figure out is flight ticket to and from Kathmandu Lukla as it will be season time in Everest after that while packing things just make sure you includes one down jacket and wind stopper which is more than enough because the weather will not be such cold during October in Everest Base Camp. Thank you for the comment. EBC trek is one of the highest altitude sickness prone trek in Nepal. However, giving yourself extra days for the acclimatisation would accrue. and Yes, indeed the classical EBC trek is the easiest one.  Let me know if you have any questions.
